Piotr Przytocki  –  Mayor of the Town of Krosna


B. 15th August, 1957 in Krosno, married to Elżbieta,
father of Andrzej, Maciej and Grzegorz.
Education – Master Engineer of Mechanics, (1982) graduated from the Tadeusz Kościuszko Cracow University of Technology, Institute of Tool Engineering; (2001) passed the state examination for the candidates for the supervisory boards’ members of the State Treasury-owned companies.

 

 

Career:

  • 1981-1983 design/construction engineer in Krakowska Fabryka Kabli (Cracow Cable Manufacture Plant),
  • 1983-1989 design/construction engineer in Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy "ERG" Jasło ("ERG" Jasło Research and Development Centre) in Jasło,
  • 1989-1990 Deputy Manager in Przedsiębiorstwo Ochrony Środowiska "Salus" Sp. z o.o. („Salus” Natural Environment Protection Enterprise, Ltd) in Krosno,
  • 1990-2002 Chairman of the Management Board of Przedsiębiorstwo Produkcyjno-Usługowe "Tetrix" Sp. z o.o. (“Tetrix” Manufacture and Service Enterprise, Ltd) in Krosno,
  • 2002 - 2006 Mayor of the Town of Krosno,
  • In 2006 municipal election re-elected the Mayor of the Town of Krosno,
  • In 2010 municipal election re-elected the Mayor of the Town of Krosno.

Community work:

  • In 1994 - 2004 – Deputy-Chairman and Chairman of Podkarpacka Izba Gospodarcza (the Podkarpacie Economy Chamber), 
  • Member of the Regional Management Board of Polski Komitet Pomocy Społecznej (the Polish Committee for Social Aid) in Krosno,
  • Chairman of the Community Board of the John Paul II Podkarpacie Province Hospital in Krosno,
  • Chairman of the Convent of the State Higher Vocational School in Krosno,
  • Member of the Chapter of Podkarpacka Nagroda Gospodarcza (Podkarpacie Business Award) and Konkurs Przedsiębiorstwo Fair Play (Fair Play Enterprise Contest),
  • Member of the Community Board at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow.

Achievements:

  • 2005 – the King Casimir the Great statuette – an award for the investment achievements,
  • 2005 – statuette for the Local Government Structural Funds Leader,
  • 2005 – participation in the scholarship funded by the US Department of State as part of the International Visitors Leadership programme,
  • 2006 – statuette of Podkarpacki Klub Biznesu (the Podkarpacie Business Club) – an award for the investment activity with the use of the European Union funds,
  • 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 - Podkarpacka Nagroda Samorządowa (the Podkarpacie Self-Government Award) – a distinction awarded to the leaders of the local governments in the Podkarpacie Province,
  • 2008 – stauette of Narodowy Konkurs Ekologiczny ,,Przyjaźni Środowisku” („Environment Friendly” National Ecological Contest) – awarded by Narodowy Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska (the National Fund for the Natural Environment Protection) and Narodowa Rada Ekologiczna (the National Ecological Board) in the following categories: “Samorząd Przyjazny Środowisku" (“Environmentally Friendly Municipality”) and "Gmina Przyjazna Środowisku" (“Environmentally Friendly District”),
  • 2008 - Podkarpacka Nagroda Samorządowa (the Podkarpacie Province Municipality Award) for the best mayor in the Podkarpackie Province and for the best website.
  • 2008 – a distinction of the National League with the Grzegorz Palka Aaward, called the local government Oscar, for activities aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the town, its economic and tourist competitiveness
  • 2008 – a distinction in 11th edition of the Environment Minister’s competition called „The Leader of Polish Ecology”, in the category of local territorial government, for the municipal waste management system, the Podkarpacie (Sub-Carpathian) region’s most state-of-the-art waste management plant.
  • 2008 – the best Mayor/President (of municipality) in Poland in the ranking of the „Newsweek” weekly
  • 2008 – 2nd place in the ranking of “Active Commune/Municipality of Podkarpacie (the (Sub-Carpathian) region "
  • 2009 – Podkarpacie Local Government Award – a distinction  for the best Mayor/President (of municipality) in the Podkarpackie (Sub-Carpathian) Province, the title of „Local Government Leader” for the town of Krosno and the title of “The Town with the Best Website” among the towns in the Podkarpackie Province in 2008
  • 2010 – title of „The NGOs-friendly Municipality” for the Town of Krosno in acknowledgement of rendering considerable services for the development of the civic society, from the Podkarpacie Board of Non-Governmental Organizations
  • 2010 – 11th place in the Ranking of Towns-Counties (the towns with the rights/charter of “powiat”, which is a second tier in the local government, between commune and province), the ranking was announced by the Union of Polish Powiats (Związek Powiatów Polskich)
  • 2010 – 10th place in the Ranking of Sustainable Development, the ranking was announced by the Department of Administration and Social Sciences of the Warsaw University of Engineering and of the Foundation of the Promotional Badge “Teraz Polska” (“Poland now, Poland ahead”)
  • 2010 – third place in the ranking of the Polish towns mayors/presidents, published by the „Newsweek” weekly
  • 1st place  in the Ranking of Economic Activity, the Gold Hundred of the Podkarpacie region’s Communes/Municipalities, the ranking published by the Higher Vocational School in Rzeszów and the “Gazeta Codzienna Nowiny” daily
  • 2011 – a distinction in the competition of “Business-Friendly Local Government”, for encouraging the development of business entities, the ranking published by the Local Business Institute
  • 2011 – title of e-Town for 10 towns and cities with fastest development on-line
  • 2011 – 8th place in the ranking of the Polish towns mayors/presidents, published by the „Newsweek” weekly
  • 2012 – the Sub-Carpathian Local Government Award – a distinction for the best Mayor/President (of municipality) in the Podkarpackie Province, the title of „Local Government Leader” for the town of Krosno and the title of “The Town with the Best Website” among the towns in the Podkarpackie Province
  • 2012 – the second place in the ranking of “The Gold Hundred of the Podkarpacie region’s Communes/Municipalities”; the first place in the ranking of “The Globalization Leader”, published by the “Gazeta Codzienna Nowiny” daily and the Higher Vocational School in Rzeszów
  • 2012 – the certificate and title of the „Local Government Leader of Education” in the 2nd edition of the Certification Programme of Communes/Municipalities and Counties (Powiats) of the Republic of Poland
  • 2012 – 5th place in a prestigious investment ranking of local governments, organized under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Poland by the magazine of Pismo Samorządu Terytorialnego Wspólnota (“Community” magazine of local territorial governments)
  • 2012 – the title of “School-Friendly Local Government”, given by the Centre or Civic Education in Warsaw
  • 2012 – a distinction in the 13th edition of the Recycling Cup in the category of “Green Battery”, the competition held by the “Przegląd Komunalny” magazine (a magazine of municipalities issues)
  • 2013 – the title of “The Personality of the Year” on the 9th Gala Event of the Podkarpacki Business Club
  • 2013 – 2nd place and the title of REGION’S LOCAL GOVERNMENT MANAGER 2012 in the Podkarpackie Province in the 8th edition of the ranking of “The Pillars of the Polish Economy 2012”
  • 2013 – the Sub-Carpathian Local Government Award – a distinction for the best Mayor/President (of municipality) in the Podkarpackie Province, the title of „Local Government Leader” for the town of Krosno and the title of “The Town with the Best Website” among the towns in the Podkarpackie Province

  • 2013 – Title of the Patron of Knowledge for the Mayor of Krosno and Certificate of Local Government Education Leader  for the City of Krosno – Nationwide Commune and District of Poland Certification Programme

  • 2006 – honorary inhabitant of the Podhale region,
  • 2007 – awarded the Knight’s Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.
