The Role of the Community Committee in Krosno
Michał Żelechowski, Head of the Social Innovation Office, outlined the Committee’s specific role in the Krosno project. The Community Committee is, above all:
- Bridge between residents and the local government, ensuring that the community’s voice is heard and taken into account when shaping urban policy.
- Structure that gives citizens a real say in the future of the town.
- Body of strategic importance whose role is to jointly develop and implement Krosno’s development strategy through active dialogue and consultation.
- Tool whose ultimate aim is to ensure that the town’s actions genuinely address the real needs, expectations and aspirations of its residents.
Appointment and election of the Committee’s officers
During the event, the newly appointed members had the opportunity to introduce themselves and explain their reasons for joining the Committee. The highlight of the event was the ceremonial presentation of their letters of appointment by Miranda Trojanowska, Deputy Mayor of Krosno.
Elections for the bureau were also held during the meeting. Damian Ziemba was elected Chair of the Social Committee. Barbara Sługocka-Wilk and Stanisław Czaja were appointed Vice-Chairs.
Division into thematic groups and next steps
Later in the meeting, members were assigned to specific thematic groups, within which they will work on particular areas of the project, and agreed on the guidelines for the next steps.
The chairs of the individual groups were also appointed:
G1: Vocational education and entrepreneurship – Chair: Damian Ziemba.
G2: Environmental and climate protection – Chair: Gabriela Pawłowska.
